{"id":73,"date":"2017-04-07T15:42:04","date_gmt":"2017-04-07T19:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/conted-advising\/?page_id=73"},"modified":"2023-11-16T10:33:17","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T15:33:17","slug":"springboard-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www-staging.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/conted-advising\/springboard-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Springboard to a DCS (Tremplin DEC Transition program)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Understanding Your Program<\/h2>\n<h3>Springboard to a DCS \u2013 What is it anyway?<\/h3>\n<p>The Springboard to a DCS (<em>Tremplin DEC<\/em>) transition program admits all qualified applicants (see <strong>Admission Requirements<\/strong>) who want to take CEGEP credit courses in order to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>explore CEGEP studies;<\/li>\n<li>complete prerequisites required for admission to a CEGEP or university program, including Science, Medical and Engineering programs;<\/li>\n<li>upgrade their academic record to improve chances of admission or readmission to a\u00a0CEGEP program;<\/li>\n<li>upgrade language skills; or<\/li>\n<li>complete a CEGEP program (please note that for Dawson DEC students, once they have completed all their courses, they will need to reapply to their original program in order to graduate &#8211; you cannot graduate from Springboard)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications to Springboard are accepted for Fall and Winter semesters<\/p>\n<h2>Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>To be admissible to Springboard to a DCS (<em>Tremplin DEC<\/em>), students must have a Quebec Secondary School Diploma (DES) or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Courses that count in DEC\/Day programs<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>General Education courses count in <strong>all<\/strong> DEC programs\n<ul>\n<li>General Education courses are college-level English, French, Humanities, Physical Education and Complementary courses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We offer many college-level Social Science and Science Concentration courses that can count in Social Science and Science DEC programs, or for University studies later\n<ul>\n<li>You can ask an Advisor if concentration courses will count in your program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you pass these courses in Springboard, they will count toward the completion of your DEC. So you are already starting your program! Students registered in Springboard to a DCS (<em>Tremplin DEC<\/em>) can be either part-time or full-time\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Note: Full-time status cannot be guaranteed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><em>Students expelled and denied permission to register in any DEC or AEC <\/em><em>program must improve their academic record to return to studies in any DEC <\/em><em>or the same AEC program. Students can improve their academic record by taking <\/em><em><u>part-time courses<\/u><\/em><em> through the Springboard to a DCS (<\/em><em>Tremplin DEC) program <\/em><em>offered <\/em><em>in Continuing Education<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Understanding Your Program Springboard to a DCS \u2013 What is it anyway?
