Mission<\/h3>\n

UDL@Dawson CoP<\/strong><\/span> fosters and supports a shift in pedagogical paradigm aimed at implementing inclusive instruction through the Universal Design for Learning model (UDL).<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Objectives of Faculty Learning Community<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Offer a safe and collaborative environment throughout meetings and reflection processes among members.<\/li>\n
  • Train and support five members per calendar year.<\/li>\n
  • Nourish the CoP by facilitating the exchange between Dawson’s previous and present members.<\/li>\n
  • Facilitate exchange on the UDL model across the college network.<\/li>\n
  • Facilitate the development of a UDL model\/pedagogy Quebec network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    UDL Objectives<\/h3>\n

    • Introduce the model and appropriate the three UDL principles<\/span><\/strong> through workshops, theoretical readings, videos and discussions.<\/li>\n
    • Create an environment and pedagogy that are\n
        \n
      • accessible<\/li>\n
      • significant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
      • Apply a pedagogical approach that leads to student autonomy.<\/li>\n
      • Implement the model in a course of choice through the three means of UDL
        \n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

        • Offer multiple means of Representation<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
        • Offer multiple means of Action & E<\/strong>xpression<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Offer multiple means of Engagement<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Create a Portfolio to be posted on UDL@Dawson WebPage.<\/li>\n
        • Become an advocate of the UDL model and share one’s personal UDL journey with faculty members.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
